Buy or sell used car online
60Thinking of buying or selling used car? It sounds very tempting to go search for used car online, contacting the seller and closing the deal. Wish it was this simple, but it is not. There are a few things you should consider if you plan on using internet to buy or sell new or used car online.
Browse popular and safe websites. There are many websites offering to list cars for free. There are chances that many fraud or fake vehicle ads will be posted on there. So make sure to visit authority and safe websites, better if one has to pay to list their car. And if you do like a car on a free website, make sure that the vehicle ad listed is genuine by checking the telephone number, car specific and other information. Some of the popular auto classifieds are autotrader, used cars and craigslist.
Search used cars locally. Although you may find a good price outside of your province, state or even country, but consider looking for one in your local area. This way you can contact the seller, meet them in public, look at the vehicle, get it inspected in your presence. Also when you buy a car from out of your local area, you end up risking your money by wiring it, sending money order or cash.
Research and research. This is an important piece of information you should arm yourself with when contacting and communicating with the seller. Find prices from other similar websites that offer some kind of vehicles.
Get your car inspected. Getting the car inspected can save you money and future hassles if the car requires any repairs. Get a reliable car inspector to make sure there aren't any damages that may not have been reported by the owners.
Know your budget. Consider all the factors, time and places you will need this vehicle. If you won't be using it for long distances or rugged roads, you need a basic one. Also see if you are looking for automatic or manual car. Some may offer remote key entry, radio players, satellite radios, AC etc. The difference may be huge in prices. So, put down your requirements on paper and make sure not to go overboard with your requirements.
Negotiate and save money. Always make sure to price down on the vehicle that you like. Most of the sellers already expect that and many times they may overprice their used vehicles. Be reasonable in your offer though.
